It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year. I am very excited to serve all of you in my 14th year as a school administrator. Each school year seems to be more challenging at every level; academically, athletically and as a school community. However, we are ready to meet those challenges and I believe that as always Big Sandy School and all stakeholder will rise to the occasion. To do this, your continued help, leadership and support will be needed at our great school!

Looking back at our previous school years we have much to celebrate and be thankful for. Our students and staff have continued to grow academically with several students achieving recognition at the State and National Level. Though our numbers are small in terms of enrollment we continue to compete with much larger schools and stand out in many reporting categories.

We at Big Sandy School work collectively and support each other. We have a clear vision and our goal is for students to engage each other in discussions of their learning and for teachers to collaboratively work in Professional Learning Communities focusing on student growth through the use of data to drive instruction and monitor progress. Our school promotes continuous data conversations within and across grade levels and content to target growth for all students.

In the 2022-2023 school year, we are excited about building upon our successes and continuing our positive influence in the community. Our school wants to review data to evaluate, revise and refine our instruction to ensure all of our students are performing at their highest academic levels. This year our goals are to improve attendance, continue to grow and improve academically, and graduate 100 percent of our students. I am looking forward to another amazing school year in service to our students, parents, and community.
